Garage Wars

Well my local event is almost here.
A 2k battle royal in my new garage.
Not sure if I'm gonna get to play depending on how many show up.
I kinda wanna play my Orks but I really need to master my SW list.
We will see what goes down this Saturday.

You think with the dryspell of 40k events that is have a packed garage.
Meh.... their lost

Hmmm why do people keep harping on how bad orks are...

I love my Orks I hate when people that theoryhammer Orks.
If you don't play em or against them why are you writing about them?

I can easily say most ork players are very passionate about the boyz.
No they don't have saves.
Yes they have trouble with Av 14.
Are they fun to play Hell yeah I have laughed more with,my Orks than any other army I own.
Are they easy to play....yes and no
Yes horde list are pretty straightforward.
No making tough decision Is all about playing Orks.
Orks are all bout the modifactionz.....red paint grotz leyz roll.

Larakus IV: Secret missions

I have a idea using Individualize Secret Missions in our Campaign Larakus IV.

How it works before the game you draw a mission card and hold till top 2nd round. At the top of the 2nd round you read your mission and try to accomplish it while still keeping your mission hidden agenda .

1. Secure Quadrant : You take and hold the enemy side of the board (troop only)Divide the board in half like Spearhead Deployment where ever the enemy set up you try and hold his deployment half of the board.
2. Secure Sector : Control Table quarters with troops.
3. Re-con: Get one unit (any) to every table edge
4. Surgical Strike: Kill all elites and fast attacks.
5. Extraction:Take down the enemy Hq.'s
6. Insertion: Get one troop choice to the enemy deployment table edge
7. Demolition: Destroy 1 building or terrain piece in the enemy deployment zone.Line up your troop choice on one wall or facing bunker in one turn to set the charges during your next turn yell kaboom and remove that piece of terrain. If there was a objective in there the objective is still there! See rule book for buildings falling in on troops that were in the terrain.

Campaign Larakus IV. :Scrappa Vs Raziel

Scrappa had just finished filling up the last dread when on the horizon he saw a rhino coming this way.......Too bad for the umans all the dreads and kans where gassed up and fully loaded!

1000 pts game modified seize ground spearhead deployment. We take the pump station and place it in the center of the table this will be the refinery that raziel is sent to secure. Then we put the scrap heap in a corner this is another objective to secure to cut off the ork supply line needed to maintain all the killer kans and dreads. Finally we put in the opposite corner a orky barracks that needs to be secured as well. All the objectives make a \ line across the board .

We deploy in opposite corners of the objectives.

Raziel librarian force doom, machine curse and jump pack.

I know scrappa list is a lil over board this list was meant for a carnage game im gonna play this saturday. Shawn was kool with it cause he kool like that.

Note he infiltrates Telion /scouts on to one Objective the scrap heap!

RD 1

He fires away i lose a killer kan . Everything else misses.

I move toward the center fire the shockattack gun killing telion and 2 snipers yay!

RD 2

He moves his rhino closer to the barracks followed by ass squad and raziel.

He fires killing a ork from scrappa mob and another kan bites the big one.

I move toward his Rhino to block him.

Shock attack gun fires at the rhino shaking it

RD 3

He holds his ground fires away I lose a claw off a killer kan.

I move toward the rhinos with my dreads

Shockattack gun rollz a Gah effect shooting Scrappa Mob killing 5 (Scrappa throws a wrench at Eggstein)

Killer kans let loose with grootzookas killling 2 Ass squad and stunning the rhino

RD 4

The Ass /Raziel leap forward to protect the Transport.

He fires at the dread shaking him.

Assualt he gets tied up wscotcha dread... locked combat very bad for him

I move the other dread to get into charge range.

Shockattack gun fires does nothing to the bunkerED in scoutz

Assualt I kill 3 he gets 2 pins he makes moral.

RD 5

He moves the rhino forward toward the objective.

Shooting he kills one KK and blows both klaws off the other 2 Drat!

Assualt goes south i kill 3 more he breaks goes 13 inches 1 inch from being gone.

I start moving Eggstein squad toward the objective that the rhino is going for leaving Eggstien by himself to fire.

Shooting kills the rhino from grootzookas Shockatt kills one more scout leaving one.

Game continues Yes!!

Rd 6

He moves his Tact squad to kill scrappa mob,Raziel tries the Dread again.

Shooting kills i ork and knocks off a claw off the dread.

Assualt Goes badly for him the dread locks up Raziel squad again as does scrappa squad losing another KK to power fist

I haul ass to the other objective bad move through cover rolls bone me

Shooting the shock attack gun killz the last scout Yay!

Assualt i win both Raziel buggs out and scrappa mob rolls a 6 for Massacre Rahh! Getting me close enough to the Pump house for the win Yay!

Well i'm going to a friends house this weekend and we are gonna play a carnage 1000 pts game.

Carnage games = king of the hill to me.

I decided to build a Ork hill.......

Confessions of a Competitive Gamer

I'd like to think of myself as competitive player trying to play more to casual mind set. I have played several games competitively Magic,Bloodbowl,Halo,Call of Duty and 40k i love the feeling of a hard match a narrow win at the last few seconds of the game.

So i approached 40k like any other game research,playtesting and tuning ....having rejoined 40k at the end of 4th ed i was a bit of a noob making all the noob mistakes and being massacred on the table for it (hard knock lessons ).Time went on and i got alot better i had reached that point in the game that where you got how to play on the table.

The time came when our LGS closed and several gaming doors started to close on me so i had to find some more people to play with in a more personal setting. My brother and i had a couple of friends that was doing that vulture circle around the game "Whats that game?" ," Those guys look really kool!",and the clincher "Where can i get some of those guyz?".Noobs more important our noobs that are friends . Well they are going through the ropes learning things getting there basics down.Holy cow the are playing on there own and against each other alot getting better every game.

So at the same time their are building armies I have started my 2nd army Orks i'm taking a good beating regularly from my brother . Game after game of my tactics being foiled and my army being swept up in grand fashion i was researching,playtesting and tweaking the hell out of my list.

I gotten this list really nasty my brother was starting to have fits with it all good things.Finally to my point i had not played any of our noobs that much mainly my equal my brother.The SM noob challenged me to a game{ seeing my brother wrangle my list with ease a few weeks before}.

First mistake i made i played him with the wrong list.

Second mistake I played like i was playing my brother.

Third mistake I tabled him in the top of my turn 3

Noone had fun and i felt like a ass. I thought for the longest time i had pushed him to quit and i got a real sick feeling from that.

He didnt quit and i vowed to be a better player all around even with my brother.

Well here is my Ork Pump Station
1) I used a Hard placement mat as my base

2 canz,3 straws,3 plastic sign holder, 1 oil funnel tubing and 4 ard cardboard tubing

Bitz more Bitz and Bitz also a sheet of plastic card from the hobby store

2) Tools Zacto knife ,Hot glue gun and a coping saw

3)Have Fun!!!!

It's a bit long why i didn't Copy/paste it here.

Personally I'm finding myself being pulled more toward the casual side.

A) I'm sick of playing Argumentative Rules interruption . To play Competitive you need every edge and angle in the rules.

B) I'm sick of playing a game that has no challenge Blow outs/tabling is only fun for one person.

C) I like to laugh during my games If i'm being Competitive I'm focusing a lil too hard

D) last but not least i don't wanna be that guy the Competitive Douche. You feel like you have been Drained mentally and that you may have to throw up.

The game ended up a draw between the necron and marine

But Mighty Uglug killed a Monolith ,6 heavy destroyers ,both lords and one warrior squad and help finish off the biker squad!!!

Uglug was the last thing i had left so i made the best of what i had.

I've entered into a "Iron chef 4ok terrain building contest" the ingredients were a coke can and three straws. I decided to makes a pump station with some catwalks (old necromunda player LOVE catwalks) having already made a good deal of ork terrain .Gonna have to hunt down the other pics of my Ork table.
